52 Weeks of Cookies Marksville Style

52 Weeks of Cookies
Marksville Style

We have decided to do something a little different in 2019. OK a big something since it will take the whole year. We are going to take on making a different cookie each week for a whole year. We will be making or in most cases baking a different cookie each week. We will have the recipe available, pictures during, after, and if they are new or an old favorite to our family, as well as any changes we have made to it to make it our own. You can check back on this very link to see each weeks addition below.

Please feel free to share, pin, etc and comment below with anything you might like us to try as we will be adding recipes along the way to get to that 52 cookie mark. Stay tuned for our first cookie the week of January 1-7.

Week 1 January 1-7 2019  Milk Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Chip Cookies

Week 2 January 8-14 2019 Soft & Chewy Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Week 3 January 9-21 Chocolate Chip Cookies

Making Ornaments

Every year we add a few more decorations to the tree, as well as buying a decoration for each child to add to their own set that they will have when they move out on their own someday.

Some of the older children have already taken their ornaments with them and are already adding to theirs each year on their own. I hope they will continue the tradition with their own children.

This year the girls made ornaments down at the Library and we have a set to make here at home. I am going to sit down and make this Nutcracker Guard. This particular ornament reminds me of my oldest and first born who fell in love with the nutcracker over 26 years ago. I can't wait to see what it looks like on our tree.

I love that this set comes with almost everything you need to make this nutcracker ornament. You will need to just use just a bit of glue to adhere the mustache and beard to the nutcracker as well as a piece of ribbon to thread through the eyelet on the top of hat so you can hang it your tree or in a window. This is great for both children or adults. This would be a nice family craft as there are several different designs available from Master Pieces here or you can get the exact one I have here which is the Guard. There are even full size Nutcrackers and other Holiday Crafts here . Master Pieces has many different Games, Puzzles, and Gifts to choose from.

The Floor is Lava

In our family we love when new games come to our attention and this game is no exception to the rule. This games get everyone moving and grooving because The Floor is Lava.

Each player has to keep moving from tile to tile to keep from melting in the lava but watch out if you land on a question mark you will have to also do a little extra something while trying to keep steady on your stone to keep from melting in the lava and being taken out of the game.

My daughter played this at her Birthday Party and you can see that she had a ball. You can see just how much she and my grand daughter had fun by the smiles on their faces.

Easy to set up just place the 25 tiles around on the floor inside or outside on the ground, gather your players, yell out the floor is lava, and start playing. The directions are easy to follow.
