Eco -Friendly colored Pencils

Recently I was able to try this set of colored pencils from ONME and the first thing that stands out is the packaging which is awesome, then the wooden sharpener, and last but not least the 48 colored pencils all with nice wooden cases.

I love the case because it keeps all of the pencils safe and sound between uses, and it look great pretty much anywhere you store it.

Great gift idea for artists, those who like to color, decorate journals, or even for children for school projects. Think stocking stuffer, gift basket filler.

Keeping your children busy during the summer part 1

Summer is officially here in Marksville. My 18 year old has graduated, my 12 year old is attending British Soccer and once that ends will be attending the Drama program for most of the rest of the summer. My 7 year old has kind of been left in the dust this year for activities, so I have been putting little projects away for her so she had things to do in between our family plans for the summer.

One of them is this Doll Night Gown sewing kit. It does say ages 9 and up so I will be right next to her while she does this and will report back on how things go in another blog with the same tags and labels so my readers can find it easily in the next few weeks.

I really like that it came with everything but the scissors to cut the fabric. That means I don't have to search the house for a needle, thread, pins, etc. We can just reopen it back up and get right to business.

As a mom I really like projects like this that are clearly laid out so that the project comes out as expected and not totally different. Not that we don't like different it is just that we don't like when things don't look anything like they are supposed to or something that gets your child upset because it is too hard for them to achieve what is shown.

If you have extra fabric around your home I can see the pattern being used for many more nightgowns so your child's doll will have a nightgown for each night of the week. I have a feeling my daughter will want me to find fabric of a similar color so she can have a matching nightgown of her own.

I really hope to see more patterns and kits in the near future from this company to keep my daughter sewing for years to come.

You can purchase the Complete Sewing Package for 18 inch doll Nightgown on Amazon.

Floral Picks

Until recently when I did a flower arrangement, wreath, or any other project with fresh, dried, or silk flowers I kind of just did it by eye, no measuring. Sure they came out ok but now that I know how to use floral picks I can really make a better arrangement or project. Floral picks come in kinds of sizes but I find that the 4 inch work best for the projects I do.

It really is just amazing how the use of an item like floral picks can make a project go from that looks good to where did you get that from, you can proudly just say I did it myself. Floral picks are great for do it yourselfers to professionals.

You can purchase Royal Imports Floral Picks on Amazon.
