The Ultimate Laptop Bag

This post may contain affiliate links. Read my disclosure policy here.

We are forever trying to find the perfect bag to suit everyone's needs and this one is pretty high on our list. This is a great backpack for toting your computer or computers around with you. Think remote learner, distance learner, college, work, home. It needs to make transporting your computer equipment easy while keeping high priced items safe.

In reality I could transport my full size laptop computer, my daughters smaller school notebook computer, and both of our tablets safely all in this one bag and still have room for books, pens, pencils, and notebooks. If you hook up a power bank to the included built in USB port you have charging ability for tablets and cell phones which is nice to have on hand as well.

This bag from Insavant is also water resistant and considered Anti Theft. It has so many extras side pockets for water bottles, a hidden anti theft area, key ring, sunglass holder, card compartment, luggage strap, etc. I love that the bag is padded so that you don't have a hard computer jutting into your back, which protects both wearer and items inside. This bag has just about everything you need to get your computer and other items from point A to point B safely. Check out all of my pictures below.

I really could go on and on about this bag. One of the other things I love about this bag is the padded handle, this is very important to me so that I can grab and go. Even though I love this bag dearly my daughter has called this for her own unless my husband takes it first. I guess we might need to get a few more to make everyone happy. Like I said there is a lot to love with this bag.

Muster bag for Kids

This Muster bag Kids Backpack is my daughters favorite new bag, which surprised me because I was only sent a traditional black camo  instead of the pink that I thought she would like more. She takes this to school, wears it while riding her bike and even when we go on appointments.  This bag is a hit with all of the possibilities from everything above to hiking, camping, scouts, etc. Lots of pockets, zip out padded seat, clasp close arm straps, and extra bag which my daughter uses for her swimming clothes or library books depending on day of week. Very versatile a bag to use for years to come. I am very happy with the quality and even with everyday use everywhere we go this bag still looks like new.

The Muster bag Kids BackPack can be found in 6 colors on Amazon.

XTRA-Fun with Bic

Back to school shopping is always fun. This year it is more of a challenge because we don't have much money. It is actually a little worse then that, but thankfully I blog and that has helped out with some of the things the kids need.

I like to let them choose a few fun things to have that they don't need but are just fun. That was a bit harder this year but we were able to get a few surprises for them, including these new Big Xtra-Fun #2 pencils.

They work like they say, they sharpen well, the leads don't break, erase easily, and are super fun for the both the children as well as myself. Yes even moms like to have cool writing instruments from time to time. Who couldn't use a little Xtra-Fun in their day?

Glasses for Kids for $29.99

I received a JCPenney gift card for the purpose of this review. This post was made possible by Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.

Are you ready for back to school?

If your child is heading back to school and wears glasses then you might want to take a trip to JCPenney to take advantage of their glasses for kids for $29.99. I do suggest going during the week like we did because it is less busy and the optical personnel have more one on one time with their clients.

We were helped by a great lady and she allowed us to take her picture. She was polite, and generally cared that my daughter had picked the right glasses. Below she is finishing up our order. My daughter's glasses will be ready in about 10 days, just in time for school.

I am the kind of mother who looks all year round for deals for school, birthdays, holidays, and any other times where we need to have things ready for a purpose.

Some of my children wear glasses like my husband and me. Just before school ended we found out our 5th child who is now 12 needed to get glasses. Insurance is great but ours does not pay for replacements and we can only get them every two years so I found out about this great promotion from JC Penny Optical in which you can get a complete pair of Kids' designer eyeglasses for $29.00, yes you read that right $29.99. Great deal right?

Check out all of the frames they have available here, and a sampling of what was available at the JCPenney we visited below.

So many cute styles to choose from, my seven year old wants glasses so bad, but alas her eyes are perfect. Even though she was looking and saying over and over again I want these when I have to wear glasses. She really does not know how blessed she is not to need them. My husband has worn glasses since he was a baby while I didn't start until 4th grade. So far each of our girls has started to wear glasses sometime during their 6th grade year, while my  24 year old son still has perfect vision.

This trip was for my 12 year old and after trying on about 50 or so pairs she weeded her selection down to these three. *The Particular JCPenney Optical we visited allowed my daughter to pick from the ladies glasses up to 120.00 so ask if your child's head is more on the adult size if that is an option.

The final decision came down to what she liked but not before she asked the family and all of us agreed the black and blue pair were the perfect pair for her.

Offer includes select Kids’ frames up to $120, FREE impact & scratch-resistant polycarbonate lenses, FREE UV protection and FREE eyeglass protection plan for any school-aged child 16 & under   Dates of promotion July 6th – September 15th

Summer Fun

Our children like to have fun but finding something for them to do each day during the summer can be a handful. As a mom I split my time between each of my children the best I can.

I was really happy to find a product that all of my girls would enjoy. I am not an artist but I didn't do half bad recreating this little caterpillar. Now to move onto butterflies.

Ultimate Volcano Kit

Just like other products I have reviewed from Discover Dr. Cool the Ultimate Volcano kit is just as fun. Your child gets to pain the volcano and then mix up the volcano mix and enjoy an erupting volcano.

My girls had been asking for one of these and Discover Dr. Cool came through with an awesome project for them to do. They loved it.

A video will be coming soon and I will post the link once it is up.

You can purchase Dr. Cool's Volcano here or on Amazon.

What Dr. Cool Has to say about their product.
  • * Make a volcano erupt and collect 3 real volcanic specimens (pumice, obsidian arrowhead, and a geode)
    * Ultimate kit includes: Volcano Mold, plaster, paints, brush, eruption powder, and 3 real specimens
    * Perfect science fair project or gift for kids 6-12 that are interested in volcanoes, earth science or geology
    * Full-Color Info and Activity guides were written by teachers are filled with cool science facts about volcanoes and puzzles to solve
    * Winner of Gold Award from Family Review Center, Kids Product of the year from Creative Child Magazine, and Seal of Approval from the Toy Directory

We've turned this classic science experiment into the ultimate hands-on volcano experience! First you'll use the plaster and mold included to make your volcano chamber. Then you'll use the brush and paints included in the kit to decorate it. Next you'll make the volcano erupt over and over again with the eruption powder (included). Plus you'll get to examine 3 genuine volcanic specimens including: a real geode, an obsidian arrowhead, and a floating piece of volcanic rock called pumice. The information guide will teach you all about your specimens as well as how volcanoes form and why they erupt. Also included is an activity booklet with 10 fun games, puzzles, and challenges to complete. Because everything is included in the kit, you won't need to run to the store for additional supplies. If you're doing this project for the science fair, you'll love how nice this volcano looks---it's way better then those paper mache volcanoes. This is the perfect science kit for anyone interested in geology, earth science, or volcanoes.

AWARDS WON: Gold Award - Family Review Center 2012, Seal of Approval - Family Review Center - 2012, Kids Product of the Year - Creative Child Magazine -2012 and Seal of Approval - Toy Directory Monthly 2013.

SPECIAL TIPS:
  • Some tips for casting a successful volcano: the Ultimate Volcano directions call for one cup of water to be added to the plaster, and this amount works for most customers. However, if you have added a full cup and the mix still seems too thick to pour into the mold, stir in a little extra water, adding a bit at a time (up to 1/4 cup). The ideal consistency should be thick, but pourable. We also recommend working quickly and using cold water throughout, since warm or hot water can make the plaster harden more quickly.

Sweetsation Yummi*Tummi

First of all I have done several review for sweetsation therapy. Why? Because I love their products.  I love how Yummi*Tummi smells like chocolate. The sweet smell of Choco Butter. Love it. I also love how this comes in a pump bottle no messes. One less thing to worry about when you are trying to put lotion on yourself or your child.

Sweetsation Yummi*Tummi is great for rashes and sunburn. For both face and body and yes us adults can use it too. Who doesn't want to smell chocolate? This is made in mind for sensitive skin with a combination of cocoa butter, shea butter, essential oils, jojoba, coconut, argan, kukui nut, tamanu and macademia. What I love most is that it is Organic and smell great but I already said that.

You can purchase the Sweetsation Yummi*Tummi  here or on Amazon.

Insulated Lunch Bag

This bag is perfect for a small day out with children or for a man who works long hours at work. It has a nice side expandable rope that can hold a half gallon of drink with no problems or if you are going on a picnic you could put the blanket in this spot.

This would also be great to bring home three ice cream half gallons from the store during the summer. The main reason we don't buy ice cream far from home during the summer is that we live rural so by the time we get home we would have soup. It just makes it home from the nearest store ready to serve up as it is.

You can purchase the Sacko Insulated lunch bag on Amazon
