THE SACRED THREAD

 

The Lord's Prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-13 and Luke 11:2-4, is one of the first passages I ever memorized. In fact, I learned it before I even read the Bible, simply from hearing it, unaware of its true significance. Now, we have the opportunity to explore the Lord's Prayer more deeply through The Sacred Thread.

The Sacred Thread is a cinematic documentary series exploring the Lord’s Prayer through the historical, cultural, geographical, and literary world in which Jesus first spoke it. Hosted by Brad Gray and featuring insights from scholars, including N.T. Wright, the series takes viewers across biblical landscapes to uncover the deeper meaning and context behind one of the most well-known prayers in Scripture.

Through cinematic storytelling and accessible scholarship, the series invites audiences to see Scripture with fresh eyes and rediscover the richness, depth, and relevance of the Biblical text.

I can't say that I'm excited, but with the opioid crisis so prevalent in our community, this film really hits home. Please note that due to mature themes, mild language, and thematic elements, this film—though centered on Christian values—is recommended for ages 13 and up. 

About Just One More

Jess is trapped in the vicious cycle of opioid addiction, chasing relief that only pulls her deeper into darkness. When she meets Charles, a dying man spending his final days praying for anyone who will stop, her life begins to shift. Through an unexpected community and growing faith, Jess is forced to confront her past, her choices, and what it really means to be free. As Charles prays to be used “just one more” time, Jess must decide if she’ll surrender her life before it’s too late.
