I am excited to present a documentary for women who feel a void in their hearts and are searching for ways to fill it. The day my father passed away was the day my world fell apart, and now, almost 26 years later, I still carry that emptiness from missing him. He played a significant role in my life, and I often think about how God should be able to fill that space. I wonder if perhaps I am the one holding back. This documentary helped me open up my heart and let God alleviate that void. Some days are still hard, but I am learning to let God fill that space, making me feel whole again.
About He Calls Me Daughter
HE CALLS ME DAUGHTER is for women who have felt unseen, unsupported, or unsure of their worth. Through intimate, first-person stories, viewers follow women as they begin to name the pain they’ve carried for years: *father wound*. Audiences are invited to reflect on their own story as they walk alongside these women on a journey toward healing. HE CALLS ME DAUGHTER is an invitation to experience the love of a Father who does not withdraw—One who offers peace, belonging, and restoration.
My review: This documentary provides a fresh, profound look at how a father’s role—whether absent or present—shapes a child’s life and well-being in ways often deeper than we realize. While it frequently focuses on strained or absent relationships, the film's message deeply resonates with those who have experienced the profound loss of a father.
