This is the third children's book from Tali Carmi that I have the pleasure of sharing with my children and grand children. My 7 year old really loves Terry Treetop, but likes Abigail just a bit more because she is a girl. She can not wait to read more about Abigail and her adventures. 

I have 4 very adventurous girls of my own ages 20, 17, 12, 7 and 2 grand daughters ages 3 years and 11 months following in their steps and it was really nice to see a book that not only has a girl as the main character but also one who likes to go on adventures learning about new things and places. 

Girls need support from their family, friends, and community to grow up into intelligent, independent, loving adults that will strive to achieve what they really want out of life. Books with strong female roles are a good source to give girls that extra incentive to persevere and make it in today's society.

About the Author Tali Carmi

Tali Carmi spent her childhood in the dessert, she memorized many of the books her parents read to her. She played with word and rhymes, writing her first book of songs at the age of 10.

As she grew she turned to other hobbies and a successful career.

We Play: Level 1 Reader is just the right level for my 2nd reader who is a bit behind on reading, she needed help with the words green, and soft by sounding them out but she did get them. I like the leveled readers because I can make sure I am helping my reader at their level and once they are reading more quickly I know to go up a level. 

Reading came very easily to me but for my children they took more after their father who didn't become a reader who enjoyed reading till he went to college, so even though they may struggle now I know that in the end they will all enjoy reading on their own time schedule. 

Reading is the second best thing in my opinion next to loving your child you can do.

You and your child can make up your own story each time you read this together. A great way to foster imagination.

The ABC Flashcards written by Brenda Ponnay is a great ABC book to add to your collection. My seven year old daughter knew all of the animals but 2, one which was new to even me. My grand daughter is 3 and is learning her ABC's so this is one of her favorite books for her and I to look at. 

I like how simple and easy this book is to read and look at. Easy for children as the pages aren't taken up with anything other then the Letters, picture that corresponds with the letters, and a sentence under each one. 

Great for pre-schoolers, as well as early readers.
