MarksvilleandMe reviews Mary Lambert: Heart on my Sleeve

One thing about being a blogger is that I often get to try out items that most people haven't seen yet, In this case it is listening to music that isn't out for the general public. Mary Lambert's Heart on my Sleeve was officially released October 14th, but I was finally able to listen to the whole album,  and Mary Lambert reminds me so much of my daughter Dennise. 

Dennise made up her mind this year that she doesn't care what other people think and she is going to be herself 100%. I am very proud of all of my children but each day she brings music to our lives, and I hope that one day I will be able to do a review of my daughters album right here for my readers.

My favorite Mary Lambert songs from Heart on my Sleeve are Secrets, My readers know from reading my blogs I don't hold much back, I just run out of time to keep everyone updated with everything that runs through my head on top of caring for my family. Lambert also spells out her mission on the album’s first single, “Secrets,” which is to encourage vulnerability. We haven't had a new logic game in a very long time so this was a really nice add to our family line up of games. It is meant for ages 8+ but my 6 year old was able to do a few of the beginner cards on her own, so what ever is comfortable with your family. My 11 year old really enjoyed it. Gravity Maze is also meant for one player but we were able to make it into a family game by taking turns. If the first person didn't solve it the first time then it went to the next person until it was solved. If you get really good at it I would suggest using a timer  ( which is not included) to make it even more interesting. 

You pick a card and it tells you how to set up the board. There are little dots at the bottom of the cards to tell you how many pieces and what colors you must use to get the metal marble from one point to the next. Don't worry the answer is on the back of each card if you need help, or to check to see if you put it together like the card wanted you to. 

My 11 year old was not sure she had it right but sure enough she did, she was very proud of herself, and continued to do a few more.

The only problem I see or should I say my husband pointed out was that even though he could tell the difference in the color of the pillars, he could not tell the difference in the dots on the cards so we had to tell him which colors they were. He could then play on his own. 

This is a fun game meant for one, but as I said above can be made into a family game with adjustments.

We were very excited to try the Baltic amber teething necklace. With permission from my oldest daughter I borrowed my grand daughter Lainy who is 8 months old to see how she fared with it. Even with all of the safely precautions this necklace has we decided to only have this on her while she was awake or napping near us.

If you are like most parents you want your baby to be happy, never suffering from pain or being sick, so using the safest possible items around them is very important. As a parent myself I would rather use something natural to relieve my child's pain then to give them medications that are filled with chemicals that aren't so natural hoping they will work.

So far we haven't seen any teeth so we aren't sure if the Baltic amber teething necklace is working or not, but even it doesn't you have to admit they are gorgeous. 

Now if only they made the Baltic amber teething necklace in my size I could look this cute.
