As a parent I love reading books, but I also love to read to my children, When I read to them most of the time it is just for fun, but I also like to read books that have a lesson built in. The Never Ending Bad Day has the lesson of friendships and not preparing for things you know you have to do. 

My 12 year old liked this book the most because it is at her reading level and she could really follow along understanding the whole book. Now that we have read book 6 , we need to go back and read books 1-5. Looks like a new book series my daughter will enjoy reading. I don't mind buying books that my girls enjoy, because it keeps them interested and improves their reading literacy along the way.

Well for Misty Bentley there is no what if. She did not want the last day of summer to end. She and her best friend Stanley Green were having a wonderful summer vacation when the pair stumbled across a fountain. Without a thought, Misty tossed a coin in and wished the day would never end. As fate would have it, her wish was granted.

Regrettably, the day turned out to be the worst day of her life. Humiliation piled on humiliation. Injury was added to insult.

If she has any chance of catching tomorrow, she must convince Stanley they are repeating the same day and together they have to figure a way to undo her wish.

Never Ending Bad Day  is the sixth book in the Lady Jenniviere's Quill series of preteen books.  Each book has an underlying moral.  This book centers around friendship and the consequences of neglecting preparation.

Since the children are off for vacation I thought we would read a few extra books this week, catching up on my reviews, while having extra snuggle time with my girls. It is a win win situation. 

After reading 'The Hippo Who Did Gymnastics' to my 7 year old daughter Dorothy I asked her if she learning anything and the first thing she said was that Hippos can do things just like everyone else. Of course you would have to read the book to understand why she would say that. 

I then asked her if she saw anything different about the Hippo compared to the other animals. She couldn't come up with anything. I said are they all the same size? She said no. We then talked about how some people will make fun of others who are bigger then they are thinking they can't do things just because of their size and how surprised they would be to find out that the bigger person can often do the same things they can, and sometimes even better. 

Then we spoke about situations she might see or come across in real life situations and how she should handle them. This was a good book, a little void of colors but cute non the less.

Here is yet another great children's book from Tali Carmi. My daughter Dorothy who is 7 liked learning about igloo's and some of the animals from the North Pole. Each of Tali Carmi's books take you on an adventure to learn about animals, their habitats, and to discover places that many children will never see in real life. 

I try to teach my children that learning is a life long process, something that never ends, and something they should always strive for. One way of doing this is to read each day.

Indian healing Clay Review

I love clay or mud masks but what I love most about the Indian Healing Clay is that it comes in powder form and I can reconstitute how much I like, when I need it. You can use clay for facial masks, mud baths, food soaks, bruises, insect bites, achy joints etc. Clay is just so versatile. 

Using it for my joints is my newest way of using the Indian healing Clay.
