When I first saw this I thought I was going to get a piece of fake grass, but it is real grass. When it was delivered I thought they had delivered chickens because the box had breathing holes in it, but there was no noise and then I noticed the words DoggieLawn on the side and got really excited.
Once opened it was easy to set up. The girls had to walk through it with their bare feet to try it out. With having snow outside including almost a foot drop to the road from our driveway from built up snow being driven on our children have been deprived of walking or even seeing grass for months now.
Sadly our Saint Bernard only used this once, I guess she would rather go outside, but then again she might just have needed the size bigger then this to feel comfortable using as well. Oddly enough our male cat loves this and uses it quite often. We pick up the bowel movements and leave the rest.
There has been no odor for our cat using it and as of yet we have not seen the grass degrade. We do keep ours in a corner where it gets air from the front door opening and closing so this might have something to do with it lasting this long.
Either way I think we will try the larger version of this for our Saint before giving up, but I do love that our male cat is using the grass instead of the clean clothes bin. He won't use the cat litter box because he is too big and because of the female cats using it. He does go outside when he is let out but like I said there is lots of snow so he hasn't asked to go out as often.
