Keep your Wii controllers ready to go

My husband has always been a gamer even though he took off years while we were raising our children, we kept up with most of the new systems out there. Once he fell at his job and was recovering before we found out he would be disabled he got into gaming again to pass the time.

We like to have items that are rechargeable so that we are not throwing away tons of batteries as they aren't good for the earth so recharging packs like these from Sminiker are just the answer. This set is charged through USB which is the only thing I would change as I like things that charge by regular cord but with an adapter which we already had I have the best of both worlds.

This set comes with 4 battery packs and a charger that can charge up to 4 remotes at the same time. Wii remote not included. Easy to set up and use and will keep you playing for hours on end. The Sminiker charger for Wii can be found at my affiliate link below.

Rally Roll

* Some of the links in the article may be “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive compensation.

Are you looking for a cool new game to play that can be taken on vacation and takes up pretty much no room? Then this game from Blue Orange Games might be a good one to get. It comes with a travel bag to store the dice and directions in between play. This is great for on the go fun, vacations, game nights, sleep overs, etc. Think camp where electronic devices are not allowed.

Easy to play, slotted for ages 8 plus. You just roll and decide if you want to risk it all and roll again or pass. I can see over time our family modifying the game a bit too. The only downside is that it is such a small game that we actually misplaced ours but I know we will find it sooner or later and when we do I will post better pictures of it played in action.

Rally Roll can be found on the affiliate link below.

Magicdo dual tip markers

* Some of the links in the article may be “affiliate links.” This means if you click on the link and purchase the item, I will receive compensation.

My girls were eyeing these markers as soon as they came in but I quickly told them they are going to be used for my new planner that starts in August 2017. I know I will end up letting them use them at some point but I want to get my play time in first.

These Magicdo dual tip markers are like a paint brush tip on one side with a fine tip on the other side so you can change up the way you want to draw, color, or design your masterpiece.

My main reason for using them is to keep our family organized by color coding our calendar for the next year. Organization is key to keeping everyone moving in the right direction and on time. There are so many things in life that are out of our control it is nice to be able to look at a planner and see what you can control all laid out for you in an easy to read format.

For my girls these would be used for drawing and creating things. I might have to sit down and color a bit with these with them for a little together time on a rainy day or while we are waiting for an appointment to start.

The Magicdo dual tip markers can be found on my affiliate link below.

Family Glue 100 Dice Party Pack

What an awesome set. The first thing I thought of was replacing dice in the games that are missing them in our home instead of borrowing from another game.

Then I thought of crafts that could be made with so many colors, and learning. You get 10 colors of 10 dice for a total of 100 dice. The bag is great for storing the 100 dice plus many more.

You could even split these up for gift giving if you make up your own family fun version of trivia .

Now I am inspired to go through our game cabinet and get it all neat and ready for more family game nights ahead.

This 100 Dice Party Pack can be found on Amazon.

Fish, Fish, Squish

A few years ago I really wanted to get into reviewing games during our family game nights but most of what we already had were games almost everyone has not that I don't mind doing reviews on older games because I don't. We still enjoy playing them but I wanted to show my readers new games that they might not know about so now that I have a little more experience under my belt and more newer games to tell my readers about I want to start doing game reviews more often.

This week we played Fish, Fish, Squish made by Winning Moves Games. When I first opened it I noticed there was squish dough in four colors so I told my girls to grab some snack bags to store the dough in after the game but to my surprise this company had thought of everything and put in 4 plastic resealable bags for the dough to be stores in. First good score for our family. A second goes to the squishy dough because who doesn't like playing with dough?

This game is meant for two - four players with each picking out a dough color a fish mold (games come with 4) and a fish card to stand your fish on. Each person makes 5 fish. Then the oldest person sets up the game. Very easy to do.

Now for the squishing part of the game. You just flip one card at at a time and if you get three different color fish in a row you get to squish one of any opponents fish. The person with the most fish left when all cards have been turned over wins. We had to go into overtime because two of us had two fish left. My husband ended up winning.

This game is more for a child but my 13 year old and even my husband and myself had fun at 43. Like I said who doesn't like playing with dough.

Overall this game has staying power. If your dough ever gets worn out just replace with your favorite squish dough which you can find in just about any toy store. When you first work the dough that comes with it make sure an adult helps, it is a bit tough, once it is worked in it is soft and pliable though. Our family gives this game a thumbs up.

You can find Fish Fish Squish on Amazon.

Family Game Night with Family Alias

We have always enjoyed playing games, but finding new games we haven't played yet to add to our collection is sometimes hard.

I recently went through our board games and have a list of older games that we have played so much that we are missing pieces or they are falling apart so I added those to our buy again list.

Family Alias is a great game for big or small families. Our family had quite a good time playing. At first my husband was not quite in it because he didn't think it would be fun but after a few turns he was right in the game like everyone else.

Easy to set up, play, and gives several options for play, and also a way to make it easier for children to play by giving them other options to get their points to move on the board. You can see in my picture one of my daughters helping out the other when she had to explain the picture without saying the word on the card.

This gives both children and adults a fun way to be able to explain something to someone else by using other words to get them to guess the right word. I have to warn you the adult cards are harder then you would think, at least the first card was for me. I told my husband I would have had to get a dictionary out for a couple of the words but the family cards are friendly for any age.

You also have wild cards that are just fun and silly ways to do things during the game and then kids cards that bring the game down a bit so that the youngest can play just as well as the older game players.

Slotted for ages 7 and up. 2-8 players. We played with 4 people and the youngest was 8. She loves family game nights.

Alias and other games made by Tactic can be found on Amazon.

What Tactic has to say about their product.

Family Alias ($20 for ages 7+) The Alias game that is equally challenging to both children and adults. In this game, players use a spinner to see who you partner is for that round. For grownups there are special explaining styles that make the game even more hilarious.

New Games for Marksville

MarksvilleandMe reviews Last Mouse Lost & Go Bong
Our family loves to play new games and the Last Mouse Lost was no different except maybe only 2 people can play at a time. Our family loves to play new games and the Last Mouse Lost was no different except maybe only 2 people can play at a time. This is recommended for ages 5 and above. Last Mouse Lost takes 10 or less minutes to play.

I like that it is light, small, no pieces to lose, and very fun and easy to play. The object is that the last person who punches a mouse down will be the loser. My girls also love to just push all of the mice down and reverse the play piece and start again, kind of like a stress reliever.
Last Mouse Lost is the perfect quiet game for a car ride. There are no small pieces and if it falls or flies through the air it shouldn't hurt anyone or anything. It is small so it doesn't take up much room. The board is made out of a Silicone type material and flips over once your game is done to start again.

Go Bong is new to our family we have had Last Mouse for quite sometime and it still keeps our children busy. Go bong gives you 6 different ways to play with almost the same kind of board as the Last Mouse Lost does. Our favorite way to play is the Solitaire Knight Game. These games are easy to play, fun, and travel well.

These games can be found on Amazon.

What FoxMind has to say about their product

FoxMind's Go Bong! and Last Mouse Lost are Easy, Affordable, Addictive Fun
Jump start your neurons by playing FoxMind's new self-contained new games, Last Mouse Lost and Go Bong!
In Go Bong!™, play several solitaire games or challenge an opponent in other games.
Both, Go Bong and Last Mouse Lost are "smart" game  choices as stocking stuffers, executive desk gifts, waiting room games, and coffee table conversation pieces.

Go Bong (MSRP $8.99) is a self-contained one or two-player game that is perfect for passing the time while traveling or used simply for stress relief because it is quite relaxing to squish the game board bumps.. The square rubberized board has rows of puffed up bubble-like mounds. Players try to use different logic patterns to press down the bumps in strategy and deductive reasoning style games.
AND... as soon as the game is over, just flip it over and it's ready to go again.

Last Mouse Lost (MSRP $7.99) is also a self-contained game.  It's a simple strategy game for two players to compete in a battle of quick math and chance. The objective of the game is make your opponent press down the last mouse and not get caught with the last mouse standing. Players take turns pressing down any number of mice they wish in a single row. The player who presses down the last mouse loses the round.
AND... as soon as the game is over, just flip it over and it's ready to go again. Whoever wins three of five rounds wins the game!

Both Last Mouse Lost and Go Bong are dishwasher safe to clean too!

Let the Games Begin

One thing I miss doing is playing darts, my father and brothers taught me how to play. My husband and I had a set years ago but between moves and lives it kind of didn't make the cut so getting these darts had reopened the game of darts for us. I am partial to the British so I always pick that set of darts to play with, and everyone else gets to pick from the rest.

These darts are easy to put together, use, and work well. I am very happy with their quality. This set comes with 4 sets of 3 darts.

You can find these darts from Ohuhu on Amazon.

Family Game Night with Roosterfin

Our family loves to play games and with it getting colder outside this is what we turn to on rainy, cold, or snowy days when the children can't go outside to play. Yes we play games in the spring and summer, just not as much as in the colder months. What can I say we are blessed with children who would rather be outside playing then inside cooped up.

Recently we had the chance to try out three new to our family games from Roosterfin through a featured party opportunity from Tryazon. We were able to try out Rooster Race, Lumpy Cubes, and Mohawks.

What we loved most about the games from Roosterfin is that they were new and different from other games available, which is what we strive for.

Here we are opening and learning about the games while having fun doing it.

First Game up
Mohawks

Mohawks is a really fun game to play. Each player gets two balls of the same color and you have to bounce them on a table into the goal. We had lots of fun with this. You could also play with 6 people with 2 of each being on a team if you want to change up the game a little.

Lumpy Cubes

Lumpy Cubes is awesome and probably the one we had the most fun with. As you can see I was the big winner tonight. Very easy to play up to 4 people unless you want to do teams. You flip a card over and everyone playing needs to put their cubes together in the same order as the card says. First person with the right combination wins.

Rooster Race

Rooster Race was really fun as well. I would suggest that there be more corn included because we ran out and had to use slips of paper for corn. In this game everyone is dealt cards with one card being left face up on the table. You then take turns guessing if your card is going to be lower or higher, if you guess right you get a corn, wrong and you lose a corn. When all cards are flipped over the winner will be the one with the most corn.

What we like about all of the games from Roosterfin is that they are easy to set up, playtime is quick, and the games keep everyone involved. I look forward to trying out more games from Roosterfin in the future.

Old becomes New again

We have had lots of Rubik's cubes over the years but none quite like this. This is awesome, I don't have to worry about the children pulling off of the stickers although I think only 2 out 6 even did this, but I also don't have to worry about them taking it apart to put back together again, which is something I did as a child myself.

The colors are bright, cheery, and fun. This is a really nice gift for children who like to use their hands as well as being a great stocking stuffer.

You can find this stickerless cube on Amazon.
